The New England Patriots entered their Week 1 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadiums as huge underdogs, but they surprised a lot of people by pulling off a 16-10 upset on Sunday.
New England's win in the opener was also the first in Jerod Mayo's career as a head coach, and his staff did a great job. The players were clearly prepared for their excellent game plan, as they executed well on the field and didn't commit many penalties.
With the clock ticking down in the fourth quarter and the result just minutes, a few Patriots players (Davon Godchaux, Daniel Ekuale and Joshua Uche) took it upon themselves to shower Mayo with Gatorade to celebrate the incredible moment in his career.

Many wrote New England off before this season started, but this is a great step for a team that's building toward something. If they can steal a few more of these games against potential contenders, they could flip the narrative surrounding their football team.
