While there have been a number of interesting stories surrounding the New England Patriots over the last few years, the Jack Jones saga was one of the most intriguing.
Prior to his arrest at Boston Logan Airport for allegedly trying to board a flight with multiple guns in his luggage, Jones was suspended by the team while on injured reserve for reportedly missing appointments.
Jones filed a grievance against the team, and the team eventually lifted the suspension. But, while it had been over a year and Jones is now on another team, we didn't have a resolution to the grievance until now.
According to salary cap expert Miguel Benzan, the Patriots and Jones settled earlier this offseason. Benzan reported that Jones received $23,889 in cash, and the Patriots' salary cap was charged $4,778. The money Jones received is equal to one week of his salary on his rookie deal.
Since Jones left New England and was claimed by the Las Vegas Raiders, he's had plenty to say about the Patriots. Maybe this settlement will calm things down a bit.
