During last year's preseason matchup between the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, Patriots defensive back Isaiah Bolden suffered a head/neck injury that left him motionless on the ground.
The rookie was immobilized and taken off the field, and the game was suspended. He was placed on season-ending injured reserve not long after.
Now, as New England prepares for their first preseason game of the 2024 season, Bolden is confident in his decision to return to the field.
"No doubt. No doubt. I love this game. No doubt," Bolden said (via. ABC). "I signed up for it. You know, things happen. Injuries happen. But, I'd do it all over again."
The Patriots selected Bolden in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft out of Jackson State, where he played for head coach Deion Sanders.
After missing his rookie campaign, he's expected to compete for a depth defensive back role and special teams role.
"I'm ecstatic, man," Bolden said. "I felt like I was ready Week 1 last year, so I'm ready to get out there, ready to be out there with my guys. It's been a minute. My last game was Green Bay, so I'm looking forward to it... Just being back out here gets me excited."
