The New England Patriots have been actively interviewing quarterbacks from the upcoming draft class, as North Carolina's Drake Maye met with the team on Friday and Jayden Daniels is now meeting with them on Tuesday.

However, according to the MMQB's Albert Breer, the Patriots are adding a third quarterback to the group of those taking a top-30 visit to Gillette Stadium, as Michigan's J.J. McCarthy will be there the week after next.

McCarthy helped lead the Wolverines to a national championship this past year, earning First-team All-Big Ten honors. In three seasons at Michigan, he completed 67.6% of his passes for 6,226 yards, 49 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions. He also rushed for another 632 yards and 10 scores.

At the end of the college football playoff, many believed McCarthy could sneak into the end of the first- round of this year's draft, but he's now being talked about as a potential top-three selection at the event.
