The New England Patriots concluded their offseason workouts with organized team activities and mandatory minicamp, so their players and coaches won't be on the field together again until late July for training camp.
While some will use this time to rest and recover before the long grind of the NFL season, rookie quarterback Drake Maye will continue working while spending time with family.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Maye plans to return to North Carolina and work with UNC advisor Clyde Christensen, who coached both Tom Brady with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Peyton Manning with the Indianapolis Colts.
New England's first-round pick is currently expected to be the backup quarterback behind veteran Jacoby Brissett. However, if he continues working on his techniques and the little things that his Patriots coaches have taught him, he could arrive at training camp with a better chance of securing the team's starting job.
