This offseason, the New England Patriots, with a ton of cap space and new leadership in executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf and head coach Jerod Mayo, have been handing out extensions left and right.
However, one player hasn't gotten paid yet and clearly wants to - defensive lineman Davon Godchaux.
Godchaux, 30, is in the final year of his contract with an $11.8 million cap hit ($7.15 million in base salary). He recently sat on the sidelines during both minicamp sessions, and Mayo acknowledged that the defensive lineman is looking for a new deal.
On Monday, Godchaux took to social media to state his case for an extension.

The public negotiation is an intriguing tactic that wouldn't be handled well under the old regime, but Mayo has appeared to be more of a players' coach in the few months since taking over. How this all plays out over the next month or so will be extremely interesting.
