Patriots DL calls out former NBA player Austin Rivers over cross-sport take image

Former NBA player Austin Rivers has been in hot water this week after saying on "The Pat McAfee Show" that NBA players are more likely to succeed in the NFL than vice versa.

Since then, everyone has been calling him out, taking umbrage with this notion, including New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore, who took to social media to respond.

It's clear that Rivers struck a nerve within the NFL community, and Barmore's looking for him to prove his take by stepping on the field himself.

In reality, Rivers is probably right. There are more roster spots in the NFL, and every year we see players get drafted and receive tryouts having never played the sport. That's not happening in the NBA.

Still, no one wants to run up the middle with Barmore on the other side of the line, so Rivers probably won't be responding to the callout.
