While a lot of the attention around the NFL is on Thursday's draft, the New England Patriots are still looking at veterans who could help their roster in 2024.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots recently hosted veteran linebacker Cam Gill for a tryout.
Gill, 26, played collegiately at Wagner from 2016-19, making First-team All-NEC twice in 2018 and 2019 while earning the conference's Defensive Player of the Year honors in both seasons as well.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He's appeared in 40 games over three seasons (missed all of 2022 due to injury), recording 29 tackles (one for a loss), four quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Gill has played the majority of his snaps on special teams, but he has played some on defense as well.
