There's been a lot of change in the New England Patriots organization over the last few months, including former head coach Bill Belichick's departure.
With Belichick leaving, so did the director of football/head coach administration and the coach's right-hand man, Berj Najarian.
Now the chief of staff for Boston College's football team, working with former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, Najarian recently appeared on Julian Edelman's "Games with Names" podcast.
During the episode, he shared a hilarious story of their time with the New York Jets and Belichick's antics during a weight loss challenge.
"Everybody had a goal. This was serious too, there were contracts involved. There was sabotage," Najarian said. "Bill did this. It was like maybe six or seven of us trying to lose different amounts of weight... He would put like a slice of pizza in someone's desk drawer, some cookies in there when the weigh-in is about to come up."
Even before he took over in New England and became the greatest coach in the history of the NFL, Belichick still had that competitive drive and was looking for any little advantage to win.
It's just so funny to imagine Belichick sneaking some food into someone's desk to try to win this inconsequential wager.
