Joe Burrow, who broke his wrist and missed the remaining seven games of the Bengals' 2023 schedule, will almost certainly be a candidate for Comeback Player of the Year and MVP this season. Time will tell if the Patriots also have a contender for an award, with first-round QB Drake Maye launching a new era for New England football.
Nobody expects this to be the prettiest game from the opening kickoff to the final whistle, but it should provide plenty of entertainment. Burrow has an explosive 1-2 punch of pass-catching weapons in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, while Maye has some underrated playmakers in DeMario Douglas, Rhamondre Stevenson, and speedy rookie wideout Ja'Lynn Polk. However, Maye is not guaranteed to see any playing time, as first-year Patriots coach Jerod Mayo has named Jacoby Brissett the starter for Week 1.
