Don't rule Patrick Mahomes out for the Chiefs' Week 9 matchup against the Vikings just yet.
There's "a chance" Mahomes, who missed last week's loss to the Packers with a knee injury, could play Sunday, according to ESPN, which cited unidentified sources.
Sources tell me there’s a chance QB Patrick Mahomes will play tomorrow vs #Vikings. Expectation is DT Chris Jones will be active. Team hopeful on pass-rusher Frank Clark. All limited in practices and officially listed as questionable. Game-day decisions.

He's officially listed as questionable, though it previously had been reported that Mahomes has "a very realistic shot" to return in Week 10 against the Titans.
Mahomes practiced on a limited basis this week, not long after dislocating his right kneecap in a victory against the Broncos.
NFL.com notes Chiefs coach Andy Reid wouldn't answer any questions about Mahomes' availability during his Friday press conference. He told reporters that he "would see how" Mahomes is doing, adding the quarterback "did good" in practice this week.
If Mahomes can't take the field Sunday, veteran backup Matt Moore, who threw for 267 yards and had two scores in a loss to the Packers, is expected to be the starter once again. ESPN reports, however, the Chiefs activated Chad Henne, giving Reid an option between Mahomes and two veteran backups.
The Chiefs (5-3) host the Vikings (6-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
