Robbie Anderson was already on borrowed time with the Panthers heading into Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season. Now, it seems like his time with them has come to an abrupt, in-game end.
Anderson was ejected from Sunday's Panthers vs. Rams game by his new coach, Steve Wilks. The veteran receiver was sent packing in the fourth quarter after he got into multiple spats on the Panthers' bench.

The most notable spat came in the first half when Anderson went after Panthers receivers coach, Joe Dailey, on the sideline. Anderson got into his coach's face, and that prompted a shouting match between the two.

For most of the game, Anderson was a malcontent on the bench. He was seen sitting away from his teammates at times during the contest.

And the final straw for Wilks came when Anderson continued to carry on. At that point, the first game interim coach told the receiver to go to the locker room.

"I’m not going to put a lot of energy into one individual," Wilks said of Anderson after the game.
It's unclear exactly why Anderson was irate, but it's worth noting that he wasn't targeted in the game before he was thrown out. He also has been the subject of trade rumors, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Carolina is "open to moving" Anderson.

Perhaps Anderson's role and the team's lack of success led to his frustration. And while Anderson's incident and exit weren't quite as explosive, they still drew comparisons to Antonio Brown's unceremonious, mid-game departure from the Buccaneers from last season.

Either way, Anderson's ejection from Sunday's game will almost certainly signal his exit from Carolina.
