A lot has been written and said about Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young since the decision to bench him for veteran Andy Dalton.

Young is in his second NFL season, and so many had high hopes after his 2-14 rookie campaign.  Unfortunately, the Panthers fell to 0-2, and Young is the most logical player to replace.

While NFL analysts want to predict what happens in Young's NFL career, no one knows.  What can be said is that Tom Brady was right.  Brady recently talked about rushing rookie quarterbacks into the QB1 role without giving them time to learn and effectively transition from the college to the professional level.

It is the norm today to make the draft pick QB1, and it is not a recipe for success across the board.  Some organizations can pull it off with Joe Burrow in Cincinnati as a good example.

At some point, Carolina has to step up and take responsibility. They had capable younger quarterbacks on the roster such as Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold who left and found success elsewhere.  Developing a starting quarterback to become the face of the franchise for years to come is a lost art in the NFL especially in Carolina.
