Betting odds for 'Sunday Night Football'

The Packers opened as favorites following their big home win over another AFC West, the Raiders, while the Chiefs were expecting to have Mahomes miss at least one game following the road win over the Broncos. Rodgers' stellar play always boosts the number for Green Bay.

Packers vs. Chiefs all-time series

The Packers beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl 1, 35-10. But since then the Chiefs are 7-3-1 against them in interconference play. The Packers beat the Chiefs four years ago in Lambau Field. The Chiefs ruined the Packers' perfect season eight years ago in Arrowhead Stadium.

Three trends to know

— 57 percent of bettors are siding with the Packers to win by at least a touchdown and cover the spread.

— 58 percent of bettors like the total to go over with two potent offenses, even with Moore filling in for Mahomes.

— The Packers have covered in five of their six wins this season. The Chiefs ended a three-game skid against the spread in Denver.

Three things to watch

Packers' run defense vs. Chiefs' running game

The Packers are No. 24 in the NFL against the run, allowing an average of 128.9 yards per game at 4.9 yards per carry. The Chiefs can get too pass-happy at times with Andy Reid, but Moore's presence could force them to adjust to the preferred offensive game plan with which to attack the Packers, as they are much better against the pass and make big plays against it. LeSean McCoy has looked good when needed and playing off that can be a big help to Moore executing on intermediate throws.

Chiefs' run defense vs. Packers' running game

The Chiefs are No. 29 in the NFL against the run, allowing an average of 148.9 yards per game at 5.0 yards per carry. The Packers should want to get Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams heavily involved to support Rodgers. That also will help keep the ball out of the hands of the Chiefs' still dangerous offense with its full complement of skill players, led by Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

Tyreek Hill vs. Jaire Alexander

Hill showed good early chemistry with Moore, delivering a long TD that put away the Broncos in Week 7. As a smaller, speedier wide receiver, he should see plenty of the Packers' best cornerback, Jaire Alexander. Hill needs to find a way to break free from Alexander at times and the Chiefs also need to move him around often between slot and perimeter to avoid this matchup as much as possible.

Stat that matters

Rodgers is 32-12 in October during his career. He also is now 8-2 against AFC West teams. He posted his first-ever perfect passer rating (158.3) in a game in Week 7. He is the all-time leader in NFL passing efficiency at 103.2  Moore is at 81.2 for his career.

Packers vs. Chiefs prediction

The Chiefs' defense had a terrific game against the Broncos, but now it will be without end Frank Clark while tackle Chris Jones misses another week. Rodgers isn't Joe Flacco, and Moore certainly isn't Mahomes. Kansas City hangs in there with a few nice drives, but Green Bay is the superior all-around offense given the circumstances.
