Packers vs Bears odds, prediction, betting trends for NFL 'Sunday Night Football' image

When the Bears (4-8) travel to face the archrival Packers (9-3) in the penultimate game of NFL Week 14 on "Sunday Night Football" (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC), they will be trying to play spoiler. Chicago's playoff hopes have faded while host Green Bay is battling for the top seed in the NFC postseason.

The Bears will have rookie quarterback Justin Fields (ribs) starting again over Andy Dalton (left hand-doubtful). He'll get some needed help with wide receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring) returning to help running back David Montgomery, wide receiver Darnell Mooney and tight end Cole Kmet at the offensive skill positions.

The Packers will see Aaron Rodgers (toe) play through his injury again coming off a bye. Wide receivers Davante Adams (hamstring) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) will do the same, while Randall Cobb (core-out) won't.

Here's everything to know about betting on Packers vs. Bears in Week 14, including updated odds, trends and our prediction for "Sunday Night Football."

NFL WEEK 14 PICKS: Against the spread | Straight up

Packers vs. Bears odds for Sunday Night Football

  • Spread: Packers by 12
  • Over/under: 43
  • Moneyine: Bears +480, Packers -650

The Packers have been heavy double-digit favorites all week and the QB change for the Bears had little effect on it. The Packers are well-rested while the Bears are coming off a tough home loss to the Cardinals.

Packers vs. Bears all-time series

The Packers lead the long-time series 102-95-6. They have won five consecutive games and 10 of the past 11 to surge ahead. They also have won 14 of 16 games. The Bears last won in December in 2016. Rodgers is right; he does "own them."

Three trends to know

—76 percent of spread bettors think the number is too big in the Packers' favor and are siding with the Bears for a back-door cover.

—55 percent of over/under bettors think the total is a little too low given the offensive potential of both teams.

—The Bears are 3-7 against the spread and 3-7 straight up in their past 10 games with three of the games going over. The Packers are 9-1 ATS and 8-2 SU in their past 10 games with three of those games going over.

Three things to watch

Fields vs. the Packers

The Bears have nothing to lose by letting Fields loose as a runner and deep passer now that he's almost at full strength weapons-wise and was allowed to be a dual threat before he got hurt against the Ravens. Getting Fields to feel and look good before the season ends is the only goal now ahead of getting a new coach.

Rodgers vs. the Bears

Rodgers will be determined to live up to his trash talk and can burn a Bears' pass defense minus the pressure of Khail Mack and few answers in the secondary. He undressed and embarrassed them again in the first meeting and can put the final nail in the rocky tenure of coach Matt Nagy.

The running games

The Bears are feeding Montgomery as much as possible again down the stretch to boost their offense. He will be key to also taking pressure off Fields and working the clock to help keeping Rodgers off the field. The Packers have the 1-2 punch of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon that can help them overpower the Bears up front and close them out in the second half.

Stat that matters

120.1. That's how many average rushing yards per game the Bears give up, good for No. 23 in the NFL. They have been worn down up front and the Packers won't mind going downhill all night with Jones and Dillon.

Packers vs. Bears prediction

The Bears will be a little more competitive early with Fields but eventually Rodgers, Adams, Jones and the Packers will create a snowball offensive effect, scoring early and often to stay two steps ahead. The Packers' defense tends to play better at home against limited opponents, too. They just have too much on the line and too much in their favor to let down here.

Packers 38, Bears 17
