Aaron Rodgers didn't straight-up ask for wide receiver help when asked about the potential for a trade after Green Bay's Week 8 loss to the Vikings. But in complimenting a reporter's question, he gave an idea of where he was leaning.
“That’s not a bad question but that’s one I can’t answer,” Rodgers said postgame Sunday about the idea of acquiring another pass-catcher.
As the NFL trade deadline approaches at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, the Packers (5-2) have been linked to Texans wide receiver Will Fuller as a candidate to boost their passing attack. Fuller has been rumored as a trade target for weeks with the one-win Texans potentially looking to rebuild for the future. The problem, as it currently stands, is that there's disagreement among the Packers as to whether to agree to the Texans' asking price for Fuller, according to ESPN.
"I’m told the Green Bay Packers have discussed trading for Texans' receiver Will Fuller," tweeted ESPN's Dianna Russini. "However, there's been a disagreement in Green Bay at the highest levels of the organization over whether or not adding an elite receiver in the short term would be worth the spend."
UPDATE: Fuller will not be moved to the Packers, according to NFL Network.

Reports on Tuesday morning indicated that teams were offering fourth- and/or fifth-round picks for Fuller. But on Tuesday afternoon, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Texans are asking for as high as a second-round pick in return for Fuller.

Fuller amounts to a rental for the remainder of the 2020 season, as he'll hit free agency following the season's conclusion. He's owed about $5 million in base salary the rest of the way.
Davante Adams on if the #Packers need another WR: “I don’t think it’s any secret that could help us potentially. I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It could help us. But I definitely got full faith and trust in my guys here to be able to get it done.” pic.twitter.com/CbMLVwB0kx

The Packers currently are counting heavily on Davante Adams at wide receiver, as Rodgers has targeted him double-digit times in three consecutive games. With No. 2 WR Allen Lazard out with a core injury, Rodgers' other wideout options have included Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown and Darrius Shepherd, along with tight ends Robert Tonyan and Jace Sternberger.
Fuller has battled injury issues throughout his career, but when healthy, he's been an effective deep threat. This season, he's caught 31 passes in seven games for 490 yards and five touchdowns. Once he cleared COVID-19 protocols, Fuller would immediately become the over-the-top threat to pair with Adams' mastery on underneath routes. Fuller also crossed over at Notre Dame with current Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur. Fuller had his breakout sophomore season with the Fighting Irish in 2014, when LaFleur was Notre Dame's quarterbacks coach.
