What channel is Packers vs. Cowboys on today? Schedule, time for Sunday's Week 5 game image

Good news for those looking to find the TV channel for Packers vs. Cowboys on Sunday: This game marks one of the rare cases in which Fox is broadcasting a late afternoon game to a national TV audience. For a matchup as prestigious as Green Bay vs. Dallas, regional broadcasting be damned.

The NFL schedule blesses us with this rivalry for the first time in a couple years. When the Packers and Cowboys last met, Green Bay extended what has become a recent trend of dominance over Dallas. The Packers have won five of their last six games against the Cowboys, tilting the all-time series to 15-13 in favor of Green Bay. Much of that has to do with the play of Aaron Rodgers.

WEEK 5 NFL PICKS:
Against the spread | Straight-up predictions

In nine games against Dallas, including playoffs, Rodgers has 16 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions for 103.6 rating. In his two career starts at AT&T Stadium, the site of Sunday's matchup, Rodgers has 4 TDs and 0 INTs for 114.4 rating.

Of course, Rodgers' QB counterpart in Sunday's game has been no slouch against the Packers. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has 10 TDs (9 passing, 1 rushing) to just 3 INTs for a 107.7 rating in his three starts against Green Bay. If Prescott posts three or more TDs and a passer rating of 100 or better Sunday, it will be his third consecutive such game against Green Bay.

Per Sportsbook Review, the Cowboys are entering Sunday's game against the Packers as 3 1/2-point favorites. Sporting News is split on this game, predicting a Dallas victory in our picks against the spread and a Green Bay victory in our straight-up picks.

Packers vs. Cowboys in Week 5 this season forces a deviation from the typical Fox broadcast schedule for Sundays. Instead of carrying multiple late afternoon games and presenting them to regional TV audiences, Fox will present Green Bay vs. Dallas as a nationally televised game.

As the no-brainer game of the week, Packers vs. Cowboys will be called by Fox's No. 1 broadcast crew. Joe Buck will provide play-by-play, and Troy Aikman will provide analysis. Erin Andrews will report from the sidelines.

For those who can't get to a TV and wish to find Packers vs. Cowboys on the radio, the Green Bay call can be heard on Sirius channel 211 and XM channel 384, and the Dallas call can be heard on Sirius channel 83 and XM channel 226.

Packers vs. Cowboys: What time is kickoff?

  • Date: Sunday, Oct. 3
  • Start time: 4:25 p.m. ET

The 4:25 p.m. ET start time for Sunday's game marks the first late Sunday afternoon kickoff for the Packers this season. They are scheduled to appear in this time slot two more times in 2019, in Week 9 for their road game against the Chargers and in Week 12 for their road game against the 49ers.

The Cowboys are making their second appearance in the late Sunday time slot this season. They are no strangers to late games with a large TV audience, of course. Including two that already have been played, Dallas has only four early Sunday kickoffs on its schedule.
