Matt LaFleur may be preparing to undergo surgery, but he's still in good spirits.
Despite suffering a torn Achilles playing basketball Wednesday, the new Packers coach was well enough to throw out the first pitch at a charity softball game Saturday.
LaFleur appeared to have little trouble tossing the ball across home plate as he wore a protective walking boot.

While the injury will force LaFleur to stay on the sidelines while he recovers, NFL Media reported he plans to coach the remainder of Green Bay's organized team activities from a cart. In the weeks since workouts began, LaFleur has stayed active and has been seen running around the field with his players, especially talking with the quarterbacks inbetween snaps.
LaFleur, 39, joined the Packers in January after serving as offensive coordinator for the Titans in 2018. He was hired after Green Bay parted ways with longtime coach Mike McCarthy in December following a 4-7-1 start to last season.
The Packers finished 6-9-1 for third in the NFC North, marking the first time Green Bay had missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons since 2005 and 2006.
As a first-year head coach, LaFleur will be tasked with turning around a program that ranked 14th in scoring offense and 22nd in scoring defense in 2019.
