It's a bad night for New York Giants fans.
They found out Tuesday that their team had traded star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns for safety Jabrill Peppers, a first-round draft pick and a third-round pick. The news just about broke the internet.
Beckham, whose time in New York contained the occasional controversy, had 390 catches for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns with the Giants. His five-year stint was filled with one-handed catches and other highlight-reel plays.

The trade comes just days after one of the other top wide receivers in pro football, Antonio Brown, was dealt from the Steelers to the Raiders.
Naturally, a deal involving a high-profile player such as Beckham sparked widespread reactions on Twitter. Here are some of the best from fans and football pundits; most were unkind to the Giants.

What are the @Giants thinking. Why would you trade @obj. I am really trying to figure out how that strategically helps them. The should really be trying to replace their QB not trading their top player. #butwhatdoiknow

Imagine passing up the opportunity to draft a stud QB #2 overall to pair & grow with Odell & instead trading Odell to grow with Baker on another team while you carry Eli, $21M in dead cap for Odell the next 2 years & a RB drafted at #2.

This is why the NY Football Giants stink.

I am shocked. No idea what the Giants are thinking. That deal is a steal for a player of Odell Beckham, Jr’s caliber.

What in the world are @Giants thinking? Why does a team EVA trade a transcendent player in height of his career? Guys like @obj come around once in a generation... kudos 2 @Browns 4 realizing that & making deal to get him! Can’t wait to watch Clev play - let’s get season started!
