The Giants on Thursday signed former Bears kicker Robbie Gould to replace Josh Brown on the active roster. They also have a backup plan.
Coach Ben McAdoo said wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could serve as the team's emergency kicker Sunday when the Giants play the Rams in London.
The Giants will make the trip without Brown after the release this week of documents that revealead a pattern of domestic violence by Brown against his now-ex-wife, Molly Brown.

Gould, a Pro Bowler in 2006, spent 11 years with the Bears before his release in September.
Randy Bullock filled in for Brown for the season opener while Brown was serving a one-game suspension following a 2015 misdemeanor domestic violence charge that was later dropped.
Journal entries and personal emails and letters written by Brown show him admitting to emotionally and physically abusing his wife as early as 2013.
Giants co-owner John Mara has spoken with Brown, but will not determine Brown's future with the team until the Giants return from London.
"He’s certainly admitted to us that he’s abused his wife in the past," Mara said. "I think what’s not clear is the extent of that."

With no Brown, Beckham might get a chance to rekindle his relationship with the sideline kicking net. Beckham was caught by cameras throwing a sideline tantrum during a Week 3 loss to the Redskins. He punched the kicking net, which then recoiled and hit Beckham in the face.
Beckham and the net "made up" and Beckham "proposed" to the net following a game-winning touchdown last week to beat the Ravens.
