Bears kicker Cody Parkey's missed 43-yard field goal that bounced off the upright and crossbar served as a devastating conclusion to Chicago's worst-to-first season in the NFC North.
On the other side of things, it moved the Eagles onto the divisional round of the postseason and closer to their quest to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
Parkey's miss was preceded by Super Bowl 52 MVP Nick Foles' go-ahead touchdown pass to Golden Tate that put Philadelphia up for good.
Revolution or convention?
Analyzing NFL coaches' fourth-down decisions in 2018
Parkey had made all three of his field goal attempts earlier in the game, but his miss in the fourth quarter was his 11th of the season.
The collective football world sounded off about the missed field goal, including quotes from those involved in the game and a couple of speechless Eagles on Twitter.
"What would my message be? F— you. You’re not in our position. You don’t know how hard this s— is," Bears tackle Charles Leno when asked what his message would be to fans who harassed Parkey.
Endless respect to guys like Cody Parkey, who stand up and face the music after some of the worst moments of their careers. https://t.co/dxvQuKQk8w

#Eagles T Jason Peters said he knew once he saw former teammate Cody Parkey’s first attempt (which didn’t count because of a timeout), he knew Parkey was missing the second. Hasn’t been the same since an injury. “I told him thank you after the game.”

Feeling for Cody Parkey. I know how I feel when I mess up on air. I can’t stop thinking about it for days. Usually I’m able to get back out there and put it behind me be by I have another game, but playoffs does not allow you to do that. Can’t imagine how he’s feeling.

If tweeting (or otherwise sharing) horrible things about @ChicagoBears Cody Parkey, stop it - during my @nfl career I agonized and didn’t sleep for days after losses, but I never lost sight of the fact that this is sports - don’t be mean.
