The 2023 NFL season is coming to a close, but there will be one more action-packed regular-season week to cap it off.

There will be a lot to sort out during the NFL's Week 18 action. Only four of the NFL's eight divisions have been wrapped up to date, and there are still several playoff spots up for grabs. That will create plenty of important matchups and a handful of games that could turn into win-and-in contests.

Notably, the Bills and the Dolphins are going to be playing in a game that will decide the winner of the AFC East. The victor of that contest will end up being the No. 2 seed in the AFC while the loser will squander homefield advantage and have to settle for the conference's No. 6 seed.

The AFC South also remains unsettled. Three teams — the Jaguars, Colts and Texans — are all tied for first place in the division with a record of 9-7. The Jaguars have the inside track for the division title and the AFC's No. 4 seed, but the Colts and Texans are facing one another in Week 18. That game could be dramatic, as it may end up being a win-or-go-home contest if the Jaguars trip up or if the AFC South rivals are both in the mix for the No. 7 seed.

Things are a bit more settled on the NFC side of the coin, but the NFC South winner has not yet been determined. The Buccaneers have the edge in the race for the No. 4 seed — they have to just beat the 2-14 Panthers to make it to the postseason — but if Carolina shows up and pulls off the upset, the winner of the Saints-Falcons game would take down the division.

There are plenty of other teams with notable clinching scenarios in NFL Week 18 as well. Almost every game will be important in some way, shape or form and only a handful of squads are going to be resting starters to protect themselves from injury.
