It appears Washington is ready to move on from Josh Doctson.
The Redskins are looking to trade the wide receiver before Week 1 of the 2019 season, one source close to Doctson's situation told The Athletic.
The source says Washington has lost faith in the 26-year old, who has been with the team since he was picked No. 22 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Doctson missed all but two games in his rookie season because of problems with his Achilles and has totaled only 1,100 receiving yards in his three years with the Redskins.
He's started 26 games over the past two seasons but is falling behind other wideouts on Washington's depth chart.
Doctson has one year remaining on his four-year, $10 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020 after the Redskins declined his fifth-year option this offseason.
A team looking to add depth out wide with an expiring contract could take a chance on him as a one-year rental.
