NFL trade rumors: Packers safety Josh Jones trying to force his way out of Green Bay image

Josh Jones doesn't want to be a Packer anymore.

The 2017 second-round pick is skipping this year's voluntary OTAs in hopes of forcing the team to trade him, according to ESPN.

Per the report: Jones has asked Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst to trade him, but the team has yet to do so.

Jones, 24, played in all 16 games as a rookie and made seven starts. In his first chance in the starting lineup he recorded 11 tackles and became the first rookie defensive back to record two sacks in one game.

But last season he was relegated to a backup role as the team started Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and undrafted rookie Kentrell Brice.

After several weeks, the team moved Tramon Williams over to the safety spot after Clinton-Dix was traded and Jones didn't make it into the starting lineup until Brice suffered an injury.

Jones reportedly believes a trade would be best for both parties, but it appears the Packers, at this point, want to do all they can to hold on to Jones for depth.

Green Bay finished last season 12th in pass defense. In 2017, the Packers were 23rd in that category with Jones playing a good amount of time.

Jones has 122 tackles (96 solo) to go with three sacks and one interception in two years with the Packers.
