Heading into the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, draft analysts knew Washington wide receiver John Ross was fast.
Turns out, he's the fastest ever.
Ross made headlines Saturday in Indianapolis, breaking Chris Johnson's nine-year record 40-yard dash (4.24), turning in a blistering 4.22.

Ross time held up after various marks were reported while the official figures were tabulated. While no receiver will relish being assigned to cover Ross man-to-man, if his time holds, the 5-11, 190-pounder won't be getting his own island.
adidas offered up an island to whoever broke the record with a couple caveats. They had to wear adizero 5-Star 40 cleats and endorse the brand their entire rookie season. Ross, a potential first-round pick sported Nikes.
