Every year, Chris Johnson's 40-yard dash record seems unbeatable. His 4.24 record set in 2008 has been in jeopardy a few times, most notably when Dri Archer ran a 4.26 in 2014, but it's withstood the test of time.
Saturday at the NFL Combine, Washington wide receiver John Ross ran a 4.22 40-yard dash, besting Johnson's mark.

adidas made headlines earlier in the week by offering up an island to any athlete who broke Johnson's record, and many people were congratulating Ross for winning the island after his 4.22.
However, one of the terms of the agreement requires athletes to wear adidas shoes while running, and Ross was wearing Nike shoes. We think Nike should offer up a paid vacation or something if the record stands.
