NFL Schedule Rumor: Broncos will see Russell Wilson and Steelers early image

The 2024 NFL schedule will be released in its entirety on Wednesday evening but several leaks are already starting to make the rounds. While this should be considered nothing more than a rumor at this point and is by no means confirmed, the Denver Broncos won't have to wait long to see their former quarterback, Russell Wilson.

When the media begins to cover the entire schedule following its release fully, there is no doubt that Wilson returning to Denver will be chosen as one of the top revenge games in 2024.

Wilson struggled to get the Broncos over the hump in his two seasons as the team's starting quarterback and he and head coach Sean Payton clearly didn't see eye to eye. The Broncos released Wilson this offseason and soon after, he was scooped up by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Denver Broncos 2024 home opener to be vs. Russ, Steelers

The Steelers and Broncos just happen to be playing each other this season in Denver, which will bring Russ back for the ultimate shot at redemption.

The Broncos and Payton will be waiting along with their new quarterback, first-round pick Bo Nix

If this ends up coming to fruition, this would mark the home opener for the Broncos. Though it would have been more fun for this game to kick off the season for the Broncos, reports have stated the team will open the season on the road in Seattle, just as it did in 2022.

The Broncos have not lost to Pittsburgh at home since November 2009.
