The Las Vegas Raiders will have yet another new play-caller in 2024 after the team hired Luke Getsy as its offensive coordinator earlier this offseason.
Getsy brings plenty of experience with him to Las Vegas. He spent two seasons as the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator, and before that, he served as the quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.
During his time with the Packers, Getsy worked with star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is now the starting signal-caller with the New York Jets.
While playing at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament on Thursday, Rodgers fully endorsed Getsy when asked if he believes the offensive coordinator will correctly use receiver and former teammate Davante Adams.
"I love Luke Getsy, he's a fantastic coach" Rodgers said, per Vegas Sports Today.
Getsy already has some experience working with Adams from his days with the Packers. In fact, Adams broke 1,300 yards twice in the two years Getsy was the passing-game coordinator, including a 2021 campaign in which Adams posted a career-high 1,553 yards.
Whether Getsy can get that much out of Adams again remains to be seen, as he won't have anywhere near the caliber of quarterback Rodgers is under center. The Raiders will instead have two question marks competing for the starting job in Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew.
