Week 17 arrived with a season-high 11 teams in position to clinch something in the NFL playoff picture, from a No. 1 overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs to a first-round bye to, in a couple cases, a postseason berth.

Only three teams — the Ravens (No. 1 in AFC), the Bills (No. 5 in AFC) and the Vikings (No. 6 in NFC) — were locked into their playoff seeds going into the final week of the season. In the NFC, four different teams still had chances to clinch the top seed and/or a first-round bye. In the AFC, two teams were fighting for the No. 2 seed and the bye that comes with it. Three more were fighting for the conference's second wild card.

The final week of the season also brought us the long-awaited finish to the embarrassing NFC East race. The Eagles simply needed a win to clinch the division over the Cowboys and secure the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoffs, and they got it done against the division-rival Giants.

Below are all the NFL playoff clinching scenarios for the 11 teams that had chances to stamp their postseason statuses in Week 17, followed by an updated playoff picture.
