Each year, the competition committee reviews different proposals from teams to improve the game. We have seen pass interference become reviewable and multiple changes made to how officials call penalties on defense. Some have been really positive while others have floundered fast and quick.
On Monday morning, the NFL officially banned the hip drop tackle and it is now a play that results in a penalty. Needless to say, it brought out some frustrations from both current and former NFL players. Several NFL players express outrage over new hip-drop tackle ban.
You have got to be kidding me. It's hard enough to play defense in the league with all the calls suited for offenses, but this is ridiculous. Come on now-We must address this matter to ensure the game remains fair and balanced for both sides. https://t.co/xREyv9LE9W

The league is trending toward the playing of flag football and how the rule will be enforced will be a major focal point this season.
