The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to improve their record to 2-0 on the season when they travel to Empower Field at Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 2.
It wasn't pretty, but the Steelers found a way to win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, 18-10. Meanwhile, the Bo Nix era in Denver got off to a rough start, as the Broncos lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 26-20.
This game was expected to have some extra juice when schedules first came out, as Russell Wilson was going to be making his first return trip to Denver since his disastrous two-year tenure there.
However, his status is up in the air due to a calf injury that kept him out of the Week 1 contest. If Wilson doesn't go, Justin Fields will get another start.
The vast majority of expert picks we found have the Steelers winning this game, but there is one analyst picking the Broncos. Here's a look at some NFL Week 2 picks and predictions for Steelers versus Broncos.
NFL Week 2 picks: Steelers vs. Broncos predictions
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Steelers 23, Broncos 14
Iyer: "The Steelers may not have Russell Wilson (calf) as a healthy option again, but they should be comfortable with him or Justin Fields starting now. They can win a lot of games by just running often and well, not turning the ball over, and getting a few big timely plays from either side. The Steelers have their relentless physical identity again under Mike Tomlin, and they will impose that, especially defensively, on shaky rookie Bo Nix."
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Steelers 23, Broncos 18
Bender: "Pittsburgh has lost its past four trips to Denver, including in the postseason. Yet the Steelers won their opener with a strong defense that forced three turnovers, and Justin Fields was efficient without turning the ball over. Denver rookie quarterback Bo Nix will have to limit the mistakes against that defense in the home opener, and that will be a challenge against J.J. Watt, who had a sack and two tackles for loss in Week 1. Fields also added 57 rushing yards, and that is opening up the running game for Najee Harris. Pittsburgh keeps the lead in the AFC North."
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Steelers 17, Broncos 16
Prisco: "The Steelers are playing consecutive road games as their their defense won last week's against the Falcons. That defense travels and will make life tough on Bo Nix, who struggled in the opener. This will be a low-scoring game with Justin Fields at quarterback for the Bears. It's close but the Steelers take it."
