The Rams have kept their plans for the 2024 NFL draft a well-kept secret, which has sparked plenty of conjecture and projection about their plans for that pick. The Rams have added several free agents at key spots like tight end, cornerback, and on the offensive line, so they seem to be keeping their options open when it comes to the 19th overall pick. This leads to some pretty interesting ideas for the pick, one such idea coming from NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund. Frelund names the Rams as a "perfect fit" for Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.

"The opportunity for a guy like Sean McVay to mold this piece of clay that's an exceptional elite with upside tight end would be a really nice present for Matthew Stafford for the last few years of his career."
It's an interesting idea and one worth exploring. We know the Rams have explored adding a pass catcher to their offense, and that Tyler Higbee is likely opening the season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list. The Rams did sign Colby Parkinson to a pretty lucrative deal, but Bowers is also more than a tight end and can be deployed around the formation. LA can get out of Higbee's deal at the end of this upcoming season if they choose to do so.
The biggest hangup with this pick would be a discussion about resource usage after signing Parkinson to an expensive deal and still having Higbee on the roster. The Rams aren't a multiple-tight end team, but they are signaling moves that could indicate an interest in moving that way. Bowers would almost certainly be the best player available on the board, but it would be ignoring some of their glaring holes on the defensive side of the board.
