The New York Giants signed DB David Long Jr. in free agency following the NFL Draft, the team announced Wednesday.
A former third-round pick with the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, Long spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rams until becoming a free agent during the 2023 offseason.
After starting his career with the Rams, Long signed with the Las Vegas Raiders during free agency in 2023. He was waived halfway through the season and claimed by the Carolina Panthers where he spent a month before being waived again.
Long was then claimed by the Green Bay Packers where he spent a month on the roster before being released and signed to the practice squad to end the 2023 season.
The Giants have 2023 first-round pick Deonte Banks and 2024 third-round pick Andru Phillips likely leading the cornerback room.
In 66 games (12 starts), Long has recorded 96 tackles (82 solo), one interception and eight passes defensed. He spent the majority of his snaps in 2023 playing on the outside.
