Gerald McCoy and the Browns appear to have mutual interest.
Cleveland has inquired about the 31-year-old defensive tackle and he is “intrigued by” the team, according to reports from Cleveland.com, which cite unidentified league sources.
The Buccaneers parted ways with McCoy after nine seasons earlier this week. Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. encouraged McCoy to consider joining Cleveland shortly after he was released.

McCoy was originally selected by Tampa Bay with the third pick in the 2010 draft. He finished with 54 1/2 sacks and made six Pro Bowls during his time with the Buccaneers.
“These decisions are very difficult, personally and professionally,” Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said in a statement. “Over the past nine years, Gerald has been a cornerstone of this franchise and a leader in our community. Parting ways with a player and person such as Gerald is one of the toughest responsibilities of this job.”
The Bengals are also considering signing McCoy, according to a report from ESPN.
