The Detroit Lions have sported one of the league's elite offenses the past two seasons, and while quarterback Jared Goff has played a huge part in that, it has also helped that he's surrounded by plenty of talented playmakers.
Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and tight end Sam LaPorta were two of the best at their respective positions in the NFL last season, and the Lions sport the best one-two punch at running back in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
Making the Lions' offense even more impressive is the fact that they sport the best offensive line, which was cemented once Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce retired.
Knowing all that, it comes as no surprise that the Lions did well in the playmaker rankings of ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who put Detroit at No. 7 on his list, which is nine spots higher than where he had the group in 2023.
Barnwell mentions the question marks the Lions have behind St. Brown, but the hope is that Jameson Williams can step up in his third season following the departure of Josh Reynolds.
So far, he looks primed to do just that after an impressive spring, and it'll also help that he's got a full offseason and will have a normal start to the regular season, a combination of things he has not yet enjoyed during his young career.
Behind St. Brown and Williams, Detroit has solid depth pieces in Kalif Raymond and Donovan Peoples-Jones, so it's not lack they are starving down the depth chart.
General manager Brad Holmes has the option of adding to the position ahead of the start of the season, as the Lions are armed with a ton of cap space to make more moves.
Granted, the options out there aren't great, but guys like Michael Thomas and Hunter Renfrow would be welcomed additions to beef up Detroit's depth at the position.
