The Indianapolis Colts selected Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After trading back from No. 46 to No. 52 in a deal with the Carolina Panthers, the Colts still had the chance to add a high-upside receiving option in Mitchell.
The Colts had a major need to add an explosive talent to the wide receiver room, and they accomplished that goal in a big way.

A borderline first-round pick entering the draft, Mitchell fell to the second round. There were some questions during the pre-draft process with his interviews, but the Colts certainly felt comfortable adding him after moving back.
Mitchell measured in a 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds with 32 3/8-inch arms. He crushed the NFL Scouting Combine by posting a 4.34 in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 39.5-inch vertical jump and an insane 11-foot-4-inch broad jump.
His 9.97 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) ranks 11th out of 3,063 wide receivers from 1987 to 2024. So, he's an elite athlete.
After starting his collegiate career at Georgia (2021-2022), Mitchell transferred to Texas where he posted 55 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns while playing alongside first-round pick Xavier Worthy.
