NFL Draft 2019 rumors: Jets looking to move into top of 2nd round image

Just because the Jets traded away their second-round pick last season doesn't mean they're OK with sitting back in Round 2.

New York is looking to move up into the top of the second round, according to NFL Media, because the team currently doesn't have a pick in the round.

The Jets would have to put together a significant package to get this deal done, according to the report.

It is unclear who the Jets would be targeting near the top of the second round, but with an offensive lineman like Jawaan Taylor out of Florida available and a cornerback like Greedy Williams there are certainly players worth moving up to get.

At this point, though, it's a complete guess as to who New York would be targeting.

The Jets would have had the No. 34 pick in the draft had they not made a trade last year to move up to No. 3 and take quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Colts now have the early second-round selection that would have been the Jets' pick.

The Jets took Quinnen Williams with the No. 3 pick in the first round on Thursday.

The second round is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
