NFL Draft 2019: First-round picks added to 'Madden NFL 19' image

Many teams made a splash with the start of the 2019 NFL Draft but so did video game publisher EA Sports. "Madden NFL 20" will feature a number of licensed colleges for its rebooted Superstar Mode and have league MVP Patrick Mahomes on the cover. It isn't necessary however to wait all the way until the release date of August 2nd to play with the new names called on day one of the NFL Draft.

Incoming rookies typically don't make their debut in sports video games until the new edition is released months after their respective drafts have taken place. Roster updates to games already on the market contractually come to an end once the league year concludes.

That hasn't been the case with the "Madden NFL" franchise since 2012, thanks to its team-building mode and agreement with the NFLPA. The incredibly popular Madden Ultimate Team now features freshly drafted rookies introduced in conjunction with the NFL Draft for its eighth year running with "Madden NFL 19."

The players enter with cards reflecting the type of ratings they would have at their estimated fullest potential. It's important to note, howevers that new cards introduced to Ultimate Team at this time of year are souped-up, high-90 rated editions of each player in order to save the cards from becomming irrelevant.

While certain attributes can provide insight as to how the players will be rated in "Madden NFL 20," the ratings for the next edition will likely be much lower than any versions in "Madden NFL 19." Last year the highest rated rookie for "Madden NFL 19" ended up being an 83 Overall, and only six players began 80 or higher.

Here's a look at the 32 rookies who are now found in "Madden NFL 19" Ultimate Team and the ratings categories in which they excel. While their overall ratings are based on when they were selected, the individual attribute ratings are unique to each player.
