John Ross' NFL Combine 40-yard dash record remains untouched.

Back in 2017, the Washington wide receiver raced out to a lightning-fast 4.22 seconds, breaking the nine-year record of East Carolina running back Chris Johnson (4.24 seconds). Last year, Baylor defensive back Kalon Barnes came close, running a time of 4.23 seconds to come just a split second off Ross' time.

This year's class should have a few players who could make a run at Ross' record. Texas A&M running back Devon Achane used to run track and Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Scott posted a blazing time of 4.2 in the 40 as a freshman.

Whether anyone reaches Ross' record or not, the event is still always one of the most-watched events at the combine. Watching the top collegiate football players try to post the fastest time possible is always a highlight of the four-day long workout, and it is certain to be entertaining once again in 2023.
