The Indianapolis Colts don't have a single player within the top-100 players in the NFL entering the 2024 season
At least, that's the way Pete Prisco of CBS Sports feels.
In his top-100 NFL players rankings, not one name on the Colts roster made the list. A quartet of players were featured in the honorable mention section, but it still feels pretty disrespectful to the talents of a few players wearing the horseshoe.
The Colts may be a mid-market team, but it's difficult to make the argument that there are 100 players better than Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner.
Even with the argument of positional value, Buckner's presence in the middle of the defensive line is invaluable.
Among defensive tackles since 2020, Buckner is third in sacks (32.5) and tackles for loss (42) and tied for second in quarterback hits (87) with Aaron Donald.
As for Nelson, the three-time All-Pro suffered a down season in 2022 due to injuries. It seems that is still lingering. Despite that, he allowed only one sack and 21 total pressures in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.
The other honorable mentions for the Colts included running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
