The New York Giants selected Penn State tight end Theo Johnson with the No. 107 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As Darren Waller continues to contemplate whether he wants to retire, the Giants go ahead and grab a tight end prospect who brings elite athleticism and high upside.
Johnson didn't have much production at Penn State with 938 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 45 career games (29 starts). But tested as an elite athlete at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Johnson measured in at 6-foot-6 and 259 pounds with 33-inch arms. He posted a 4.57 in the 40-yard dash to go along with a 39.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-5-inch broad jump.

Johnson worked all over the formation in the Nittany Lions offense working in line, in the slot and even out wide at times. He was a wide receiver in high school and made the transition to tight end.
Johnson brings an exceptional catch radius and the ability to make plays after the catch. He's still developing as a blocker, but he shows promising traits if he can continue to improve his leg drive and hand placement to give him better leverage.
