If the New York Giants want any success offensively in 2024, they will need left tackle Andrew Thomas leading the offensive line.
After putting together a sensational 2022 season, Thomas dealt with injuries throughout the 2023 campaign. He was fantastic when he was playing, but it wasn't enough to keep the Giants from allowing a league-high 85 sacks.
Despite his strong play when healthy, the injury knocked him out of the top 10 in Pro Football Focus' offensive tackle rankings.
11. ANDREW THOMAS, NEW YORK GIANTS
Another player whose 2023 season was impacted by injuries, Thomas was unable to replicate his terrific 2022 season as he played a career-low 576 snaps last year. However, his 90.3 overall grade in 2022 ranked third at the position, and he finished in the top 10 in pass-blocking grade last year even though it was a relatively down year for the Giants tackle.
The offensive line is still a major question mark going into 2024, but the unit can get by if Thomas returns to his 2022 form. It's no coincidence the Giants also made the playoffs that season.
Without Thomas, the Giants put Joshua Ezeudu at left tackle. The former third-round pick was greatly overmatched in that role, and the Giants didn't do anything to quell the concerns of having a viable backup left tackle.
Thomas can be one of the elite left tackles in the league, but he can only do that if he stays healthy.
