Tom Brady and the Patriots are set to host Philip Rivers and the Chargers in the AFC divisional round of the playoffs on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
These teams haven't met since the 2007 and 2008 divisional playoff rounds and if you know anything about the outcome of those consecutive playoff meetings, its safe to say that Rivers and the Chargers are coming for revenge. The Patriots won both years, 27-21 in 2007 and 21-12 in 2008.
With their Week 17 win over the New York Jets, New England, despite their defensive deficiencies throughout the season, secured the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
The Patriots will have home-field advantage, which will be an advantage for the team given the fact that they haven't lost a home contest since Oct. 1, 2017.

During the wild-card round the Chargers held on to beat the Ravens 23-17 in a game filled with crazy plays and back-and-forth calls. The Chargers struggled to score in the red zone but were able to do enough to get it done against Baltimore. Melvin Gordon had LA's only touchdown of the game.
The Chargers are equally as good on the road as they are at home and have noted that they are prepared to win anywhere. They finished the season 9-1 in opposing stadiums, suffering their only road loss to fellow LA team, the Rams.
This may be Rivers' last chance at a Super Bowl and a win on Sunday would be the furthest Rivers' has gotten in the playoffs in his entire 15-year career. It would also be the first time Rivers has ever beaten Brady.
This should be a competitive matchup between two veteran quarterbacks. Here's how to watch:
