Tonight's "Monday Night Football" matchup is not exactly the best game on the Week 9 schedule, but anytime the Cowboys play the Giants, the high-profile NFC East rivalry is worth watching.
Monday night's game, scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN, is a rematch of the 2019 season-opening tilt in which Dallas blew out New York. The Giants draw the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium this time around, but the road team still enters Monday night as a seven-point favorite, per Sportsbook Review.

Part of the reason the Cowboys were able to handle the Giants a couple months ago — and part of the reason Dallas is a touchdown favorite in Week 9 — was the play of Dak Prescott. The QB passed for 405 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 158.3 passer rating, the highest attainable mark, in the Cowboys’ 35-17 win over the Giants in Week 1.
Since entering the NFL in 2016, Prescott has recorded 15 games with both a passing TD and rushing TD, the most in the league over that span. With both a passing and rushing TD against the Giants, Prescott would tie Daunte Culpepper (16 games) for the second most games with both a passing and rushing TD in a player’s first four seasons in NFL history.

In both our NFL Week 9 picks against the spread and straight-up predictions, Sporting News projected a Cowboys victory over the Giants on Monday night. Below are the explanations.
Pick against the spread: The Cowboys are coming off a bye and already have the recent memory of losing a trap game at MetLife Stadium against the Jets. They will come out fine-tuned offensively with Ezekiel Elliott running well and setting up big plays in the passing game as is their usual mojo with Kellen Moore. Daniel Jones will hang in there, but eventually Dallas' edge on the defensive front will come through as he won't get to hit any deep balls and will be stuck throwing a lot of balls into tight coverage. Pick: Cowboys win 27-19 and cover the spread.
Straight-up prediction: Because the Cowboys limped through three straight losses before their bounce-back win over the Eagles a couple weeks ago, it's easy to forget they have the NFL's No. 1 offense in terms of yards per game. It's not as easy to forget the Giants, losers of four straight games, have one of the NFL's worst defenses. Dallas was upset by the other New York team at MetLife Stadium a few weeks ago thanks in part to a handful of key injuries. Those players are healthy now following the Cowboys' bye week, so they should be able to complete the season sweep of the Giants. Pick: Cowboys 31, Giants 17.
