Who plays on 'Monday Night Football' tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule for Week 14 image

The meaning of tonight's "Monday Night Football" game is different for both teams. The Eagles, who will host the Giants in a game scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN, are desperate to stay alive in the NFC East race and, in turn, the NFL playoff picture. New York, already eliminated from playoff contention, has its eyes on the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Yet Monday night's game might not mark an easy end to Philadelphia's three-game losing skid. Working in the Giants' favor is the wild card that is Eli Manning back in the lineup while rookie starting quarterback Daniel Jones nurses an ankle injury. Also, New York coach Pat Shurmer is 0-3 against Philadelphia and coaching to save his job.

Yet for the Giants to pull off an upset, Manning will need to outplay Carson Wentz, who's on a bit of a hot streak. The Eagles QB passed for 310 yards, 3 touchdowns, a pick and a passer rating of 93.6 in last week's loss to the Dolphins. Further, he has 5 TDs and no picks in his last three starts against New York.

Also worth noting: The winner of this rivalry game will tilt the all-time series in its favor. The Eagles have won their last five regular-season games against the Giants to make the series an even 83-83-2.

Below is all you need to know about Week 14's Monday night game between the Eagles and Giants, including the kickoff time and TV channel.

Who plays on Monday Night Football tonight?

  • New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
  • Kickoff time: 8:15 p.m. ET

In both our NFL Week 14 picks against the spread and our straight-up predictions, Sporting News projected an Eagles win over the Giants on Monday night. Below are the explanations.

Pick against the spread: The Giants have lost eight consecutive games and have been eliminated from the playoff hunt. The Eagles have dropped three in a row, still needing to chase the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. Eli Manning will come out firing against the Eagles' struggling secondary, but the Giants' pass defense will struggle even more against Carson Wentz. Look for the Eagles to overcorrect and commit more to the run to get their defense back on track and earn a much-needed victory. Pick: Eagles win 27-17 and cover the spread.

Straight-up prediction: The Eagles, losers of three straight games, keep failing to take advantage of the Cowboys' losses. By the time Monday night's game arrives, they'll know whether they have yet another opportunity to catch their rivals in the NFC East race. Regardless, there's no reason to think Philadelphia will lose at home to a dreadful New York team, so Dallas needs a victory. Pick: Eagles 26, Giants 14.
