The NFL got a surprising divisional upset on "Monday Night Football" in Week 10 when the Commanders beat the undefeated Eagles. Will the league get another one in another divisional matchup?

LIVE: Follow SN's updates from 49ers vs. Cardinals

The Monday night game this week will feature a couple of NFC West teams doing battle. The 49ers will travel to State Farm Stadium to face the Cardinals as each looks to improve their record and return to the playoffs in 2022.

Both the 49ers and Cardinals have had their share of struggles this season. San Francisco had issues with injuries while Arizona's offense hasn't been consistent from week to week.

Still, both are very much in the playoff race, and San Francisco would be the NFC's No. 7 seed if the postseason began today. They certainly still have a shot at the division title, too, while the Cardinals could make some noise if they get on a well-timed hot streak.

But who will have the advantage on "Monday Night Football" in Week 11? Here's everything to know about the Cardinals vs. 49ers matchup ahead of ESPN's broadcast.

Who plays on 'Monday Night Football' tonight?

  • Matchup: 49ers at Cardinals
  • Location: State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The Cardinals (4-6) are set to host the 49ers (5-4) in a Week 11 game that could prove crucial in determining whether one or both NFC West teams can make a pushes toward the playoffs.

Arizona is in need of a win to keep it from falling three games below .500. The team has endured an up-and-down season to date, but just defeated the Rams in Week 10 with backup quarterback Colt McCoy starting. Kyler Murray missed the contest due to a hamstring injury.

Without Murray again, the Cardinals will count on DeAndre Hopkins to carry the passing game through McCoy, while rookie Trey McBride looks to help replace the impact of the injured Zach Ertz.

As for the 49ers, they are coming off a 22-16 win over the Chargers on "Sunday Night Football" and can move into a tie for first place in the division with a win. Jimmy Garoppolo will be asked to manage an offense comprised of weapons like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle against what has been a stout Arizona defense this season.

If the Cardinals can beat the 49ers, it would put the two teams in a neck-and-neck race for a potential wild-card spot along with the Commanders. If the 49ers win, their playoff odds will increase significantly while Arizona might have a tough time making it back to the postseason.

Needless to say that Kyle Shanahan and Kliff Kingsbury should both be amped up for this contest.
