Should NFL teams target Mekhi Becton's dad in the NFL Draft? Twitter seems to think so image

The Becton family is large and in charge.

During Thursday night's Round 1 of the NFL Draft, the Jets selected offensive tackle Mekhi Becton from the University of Louisville with the 11th overall pick. The mountainous Becton, standing at nearly 6-8 and weighing more than 363 pounds, is slated to be the team's left tackle of the future.

But Mekhi isn't the only Becton who stole headlines and eyes during the first round. Mekhi's father Jerome was spotted on camera celebrating alongside Mekhi and the rest of the Becton family after the announcement of the pick. "Spotted" is used loosely, because he's pretty hard to miss.

The patriarch of the Becton family has some football running through his body, too. Jerome played a little bit of semi-pro football and also spent time in Arena League Football, where he played as defensive tackle. This news should be utterly unsurprising.

In any case, people on Twitter were in awe at the size of this lad, as he is an absolute unit. Jerome's draftability came immediately into question, and Twitter wondered aloud:

For what it's worth, the Jets have two third-round picks. The second round gets underway Friday night, and Jerome is likely shooting up draft boards.
