The Cowboys have seen enough of Brandon Weeden under center.
Coaches have informed Weeden that the team will start Matt Cassel at quarterback Week 7 against the Giants following the team’s bye week, ESPN.com reported Tuesday.

Since taking over for an injured Tony Romo, Weeden has completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 739 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing two interceptions in just over three games of work. The Cowboys have lost all three of Weeden's starts.
The Cowboys sent a 2017 fifth-round pick to the Bills for Cassel and a 2017 seventh-round pick on Sept. 22, two days after Romo broke his left collarbone. Romo was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return. He’s eligible to rejoin the Cowboys for their Nov. 22 game against the Dolphins.
Cassel, acquired by the Bills in a March trade with the Vikings, was in a three-man competition for the starting job in Buffalo, but Tyrod Taylor won the job over Cassel and EJ Manuel in the preseason.
Ironically, the Bills now will be without Taylor for Week 6 as he deals with knee and ankle injuries. Manuel is expected to start Buffalo's game Sunday against the Bengals.
