Just because you've got money doesn't mean you have to spend it.

That's the motto Marshawn Lynch by throughout his NFL career, which spanned nine years. It's long been reported the former Bills and Seahawks running back never spent a dime of the $50 million he earned from playing contracts while he was in the league. Instead, the Cal product relied on income accrued through endorsement deals.
Lynch's cousin, California-based rapper Mistah F.A.B, spoke at length about his famous family member's frugal ways in an interview on XXL's "Ante Up" podcast.
Here's what F.A.B. had to say: “He lives like he’s broke,” F.A.B. said after confirming that Lynch hasn’t spent any of the money he made during his time in the NFL. “He still lives like, ‘Cuz, let me get $10.’ ‘Oooh, $10? Cuz, I don’t know. I don’t got it right now. How much is them? Oooh, $40? No, let me get the $15 ones.’ Like, that’s how he is. You’ll be like, ‘Bro, are you serious?’ Like, we’ll go out to eat or go somewhere and he’ll be like, ‘How much is the whomp whomp? Oooh, hell no! $60? Oh no, no. Let me get the $25 one right there, though, the one on the side of it. Yup, that one’s good!’ I’m like, ‘Cuz, you are a cheap ass hoe, bro.’ That’s just how he is. You learn to love him.”
F.A.B. added that Lynch serves as inspiration to those around him to be wise with their money.
