After identifying the players who saw their ratings improve the most last season in "Madden NFL 17," we now look at those who regressed the most.
Players tend to have the ability to move up in ratings at a faster rate than they fall, given that they receive some benefit of the doubt based on past performance and factors outside their control.
Receivers, for example, rarely fall heavily in ratings as blame for decreased production may be placed on poor quarterbacking or play-calling.
While Matt Ryan rose from the middle of the pack of quarterbacks to near the top, Cam Newton had the opposite trajectory. He began the 2016-17 campaign coming off an MVP and Super Bowl appearance ranked as the third highest QB in "Madden" at 94 Overall. He finished 13th at the position rated only 84 Overall.
From the list below, the Arizona Cardinals were impacted the most by player ratings that fell dramatically over the course of the season, with seven players included. The Carolina Panthers and New York Jets follow with six and the Denver Broncos with five.
